Do not consume or bath in water
March 10, 2026
The boil order is no longer in effect as the contamination is diesel. DO NOT USE WATER FOR CONSUMPTION OR BATHING. Use only for flushing the toilet.
On Thursday, March 5th, a trailer hauling diesel fuel overturned at the Totten Trail gas station. On Monday, March 9th, when the company had almost completed the cleanup of the spill, they nicked GRWD's waterline. Per ND Department of Environmental Quality guidelines, GRWD is required to issue an alert indicating the contamination to the public and test the water for contamination after the waterline is repaired. The waterline has been repaired, and the water sample has been delivered to the ND DEQ for testing. The results will be received within the next 24 hours.
An alert message will be sent out with the test results are received.
